Friends, your Red, White, Blue and Green Peasant
is taking this week and next off to celebrate the
Saint Patrick's Day season with family and friends.
I'll be dining as well as drinking (only to excess ---
JUST KIDDING!) with those near and dear to me,
and shall sing on a stage or two, solo as well as
with my Chuck Ward Celtic Song Circle pals.
I'll be at it not only on the 17th but on some of
the days before and after Saint Patrick's feast day
as well.
We'll gather here again after the day and the hoopla,
and pick up where we're leaving off with our exam-
ination of the political and economic news of the day.
Meanwhile, whether you are even a wee bit Irish or not,
indulge in some tasty Guinness, perhaps a juicy corned
beef sandwich and some potatoes, and take in a concert
or a party with some wonderful bands playing Irish music!
And if you feel in the mood, dance to a jig or a reel!
So we'll reassemble in two weeks. SLA'INTE!
(That's an Irish toast meaning "Health!", as in "To your
health!" in Gaelic; it is pronounced "Slawn-che").
