A Win by Knockout!

A wee while back, your favorite Peasant was informed by Twitter,
of whom I've been a guest in its jail for rebellious, scurrilous,
highly improper right-wing tweeters that dare to sully their
pristine, left-wing to the point of woke social media site
with our deplorable, nasty, peasant-like points of view,
partaking of Twitter's hospitality at the tech giant's pleasure
where my stay has been made permanent. And as before, the
online communication colossus still steadfastly refuses to inform
your bound-up Peasant as to what the reasons are that I can't
tweet anymore on the page I had on their site.

But lo and behold! A white knight has come riding to Twitter
and has taken over the tech titan with a $44 billion buyout!
Elon Musk, the wealthiest person on the planet, now has
ownership of the company and oh the reverberations rumbling
through its offices and halls! Many of the sizeable left-wing
contingent at Twitter have resigned with alacrity, while lefties
all around the country have gone into major conniptions over
the news! Elon Musk isn't even a conservative but still knows
the importance of a free marketplace of goods and services
as well as the importance of freedom of expression in the
public square. In fact, he was originally a hero to the lefty
crowd for building his Tesla electric cars, for which his
erstwhile admirers commended him for making a car that
would lead us to ceasing to rely on fossil fuels and cars that
run on them; now Musk has nose-dived in their estimation
while many others laud him and his purchase of Twitter.

And guess what his mission is: introducing the First Amendment
to the lefties who have quashed free speech on their web site.
Yesterday I visited Twitter for the first time since my incarceration
in their "jail" for the offense of posting conservative material,
and I saw that I had been reinstated!

Meanwhile I have opened an account and got a page on MeWe,
a social media site which, in a non-partisan, non-ideological
fashion upholds the principles of free speech for anyone who
wishes to share a thought or an opinion, be they liberal,
progressive, conservative or moderate. After getting on board
with MeWe I have gained quite a following there, posting what
subject matter will be in the blog's contents each week, just as
I had done on Twitter and as I still do on Facebook. Furthermore,
I shall continue to seek out conservative along with pro-free speech,
First Amendment-rooted sites to sign on to, while posting such
conservative stuff on Twitter so conservative that you ain't seen
nothin' yet!

Besides, it takes a heckuva lot more than suspensions and permanent
bans to silence The Peasant! As a right-of-center political blogger,
your persistent Peasant is part of an online community of like-minded
bloggers who are the itch that the Liberal Establishment can't
scratch. And to have the world's wealthiest human on our side in our
battle to preserve our right to self-expression tilts the playing field
dramatically to our advantage! Three cheers for Elon Musk and the
First Amendment!

America Unmasks

During the Coronavirus (a/k/a COVID-19) epidemic
the federal government, with many state and local
government units in tow, hastily wrote and mandated
many rules for us to follow, supposedly to protect us
from catching the virus. Some places had more stringent
mask mandates than others, and some places had
partial lockdowns as well as limiting the number of
patrons a restaurant, a bar, a store, or a house of
worship could have. Some establishments were shuttered,
with limited hours, causing the owners to not make enough
money to stay open, pay their rent, and pay their bills.
Many staff members of these businesses lost their jobs.
Schools were closed and students had to do "remote learning"
with computers at home. "Safe distancing" was enforced.
Office workers worked from home, "telecommuting" along
with performing their duties online. And many Americans
chafed, choked, railed, and protested against these restrictions
on their freedom of movement, association, and activity.
Then there were vaccine mandates some employees had to
submit to in order to keep their jobs, if they weren't already
separated from their work by at least some of the afore-
mentioned conditions.

Many, including some of their representatives in the halls of
power, questioned the constitutionality of these rules/laws.
Well, many state and local governments ended their mask
mandates while a federal judge, Kathryn Kimball Mizelle
ruled that the source of many of the federal laws concerning
protection from the pandemic, the CDC (Center for Disease
Control) greatly overstepped its statutory authority and
never clearly explained its justification for the far-reaching
mask mandate, which President Biden backed to the hilt.
The CDC based their actions on their reading and interpretation
of the 1944. Judge Mizelle said the agency stretched the meaning
of the word "sanitation" in the law, which was never intended
to guarantee or support such broad control over the behavior
of the people. The judge's ruling blocked the mandatory masking
on public transportation, i.e. airlines, trains, buses, taxis, and
such. Furthermore, the mask mandates which came down from
all levels of government, were a waning health necessity, with
scientists and doctors finding no definite health protection in
wearing said masks. The CDC had behaved like too many
government bureaucratic agencies, making up rules with the
weight of laws, including dire consequences for anyone who
would disobey these rules masquerading as laws including
but not limited to stiff and steep fines.

President Biden should rethink willy-nilly jumping on the
bandwagon for the creation of these federal orders which
have no clear statutory justification, and to realize that only
Congress can write such laws, not unelected government
bureaucrats. Otherwise he will get a legal bruising in the
courts at every turn if he continues to support these end runs
around the legislative branch of the government.

Twitter vs. The Peasant, Round 3

Just recently I received an online message from the Twitter
twits, those censoring, totalitarianism-loving trolls who
suspended my Twitter account a few months ago without
informing me as to the reason for their actions: they now
have decided to make me a lifer in their Twitter prison.
In other words, your jailbird Peasant will never be able
to tweet again, and that includes posting my announcements
of my upcoming blog posts each with a brief blurb telling
their subject matter; life sentence, no parole. So this is
what, at last, has become of my battle with Twitter.

Of course, the ungiven reason for Twitter doing this is the fact
that I had the audacity to put up some conservative content
(horrors!), much to the displeasure and discomfort of the
Twitter solons. William F. Buckley said many years ago
that "Though liberals do a great deal of talking about hearing
other points of view, it sometimes shocks them to learn that
there are other points of view." Apparently this is the case
with the staff at Twitter.

So I now have an account at MeWe, a social media site which
welcomes people of all political ideologies, as its staff are
not merely proponents but are practitioners of the
First Amendment, only disallowing foul language and threats.
Your pleased Peasant heartily recommends MeWe for those
of you, my grand readers, to engage in political discussions
with fellow conservatives and others with an interest in the
political scene without having to keep an eye out for left-
wing censorship. As I explore the internet for more like
sites, I shall make mention of them here on PWAP for you
all to note and to visit. Perhaps we shall meet up on some
of these sites and get together for some wonderful visits!
Anyway, sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to
name but three are inhospitable places for conservatives
and anyone else who does not buy into the politics and
general philosophy of the left-wingers, as the latter would
shut up and shut out the former rather than debate them.
After all, it isn't much fun to enter a gunfight with a pop
gun for obvious reasons. Conservative talk show hosts
Mark Levin and some others have discontinued their
pages on some of these sites and have gone over to MeWe,
Parler, and other such sites, having so informed their
audiences. Joe Pags was himself suspended by Twitter,
and former President Donald J. Trump was, like your
Peasant, permanently suspended (Suspended, heck!
I was banned and so was our 45th president!) by same.

We shall simply regroup on more friendly territory and
dig in. We will have a level playing field, and on it shall
win our battle for freedom of speech and ultimately win
our war for the heart and soul of our country.

Oh, as I go to press, a timely news flash: Elon Musk, the
world's most successful and famous entrepreneur and maker
of the electric-powered Tesla automobile, as well as the
wealthiest human being on the planet, very recently began
purchasing shares of Twitter stock making purchases every
month since the start of the year. Musk now owns about 9%
of all outstanding shares in the social media giant, and this
week turned down an offer from Twitter to join their board
of directors; crazy like a fox, he knew he would be forbidden
to exceed a cap of 14.9% on stock ownership if he accepted
a seat on the board but could buy many more shares, setting
up a hostile takeover attempt. The motivation driving Musk
is his elimination of Twitter's censorship of political views
diametrically opposed to those of Twitter (Musk himself has
run afoul of Twitter's so-called fact-checkers and content
approval crew with his own Twitter account) and letting in
the breezes of free speech and unfettered political expression
to waft through the tech titan's facilities. If Musk's mission
is successful, would it mean that the Twitter jailhouse Peasant
would cease being an inmate and once again be a rootin',
tootin, tweetin' righty account holder, tweeting my conservative
content to one and all? As they say in broadcasting,
"Stay tuned"; here, as this blog is obviously of the print media,
I'll say "Keep reading".

NOTE: I just today found an error in the text of this post
and went to correct it, but the site made the publish date April 19
when in fact it was posted last week. I don't know if this was
because of me, or a quirk in Blogger. It may not make any
difference, but your detail-conscious Peasant thought it
important to point out to you, my dear readers.
Anyway, thank you for your understanding.

The Peasant wishes to extend Easter greetings and best wishes
to you, my beloved readers! May you all enjoy the company of
family and friends, and bask in the love of the One who made
Easter possible through the frightening sacrifice He made.

And may we all meet here again afterward and enjoy each other's

news! God bless you all!

Chick-fil-A Chickens Out

The Left is trying its hardest to make Americans, and
therefore America, think, talk, walk, eat, drink, and vote
as they tell us to. Being good little totalitarians, they
realize that they have to get everyone on the same page,
bar none, in order to transform our country into something
which we would not recognize and would want nothing to
do with, but they themselves would be deliriously
happy with. One of the ways in which they are trying to
accomplish this is to apply political and economic pressure
to businesses which either openly espouse support for
traditional view of marriage (heterosexual only) or keep
quiet and neutral on same. They try to force companies
to cease financial contributions to organizations which
these lefty "social justice warriors" deem bigoted,
reactionary, and anti-LGBTQ, such as the Salvation Army
and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; these two entities
had long received such financial gifts from Chick-fil-A,
but that is over and done with thanks to a successful
campaign by the aforementioned far left-wing bullies.

The backstory: in 2012 Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy,
a committed evangelical Christian, cheesed off these
enlightened souls by his own support for the traditional
view of marriage. A vicious political campaign was raised
against them, which included a boycott of their restaurants.
Earlier this year, three U.S. airports denied Chick-fil-A
concessions contracts --- no Chick-fil-As to set up shop
on their premises. Soon after, the campaign crossed the
Atlantic to pressure the landlord of the site where Chick-
fil-A was to open the first of their restaurants in the U.K.
Although the restaurant organization has, in fact, never
turned away customers which were openly gay or at least
thought to be by the restaurant managers, and has hired
openly gay people to their staffs, the lefty loudmouths
have accused the company of supporting organizations
"hostile to LGBTQ rights" and causes.

COO Tim Tassopoulos recently announced that Chick-fil-A
will no longer give money to the "offending" organizations.
All this firm and its restaurants want to do is serve chicken
sandwiches and waffle fries, the likes being magnificently
delicious (yes indeed, your beloved Peasant has visited a
couple of Chick-fil-As here in the Milwaukee vicinity and
thoroughly enjoyed my meals!); they don't seek to wage
political fights over the rights and wrongs of the morals
regarding sexual behavior. And given their welcoming gay
patrons and employees, how have they harmed gay people,
or any of the other people represented by the other letters
in the name of this cluster of sexual grievance groups?
Whatever happened to the right of someone holding
and expressing an opinion which may not, at least in
some quarters, be popular, as long as they are not trying
to force it upon others? Seems that the Far Left has
become the biggest practitioners of this hostility to
First Amendment rights. And whenever they gain a
victory as they have in this instance, they become more
emboldened, they have more swagger, and they think
that they are invincible. To see Chick-fil-A knuckle
under to these totalitarians, even after weathering
boycotts and business property management owners
backing out of leasing deals while picking up the
patronage and the support of a growing number of
loyal customers, is not only disappointing,
it's sickening.

Add to all this is the fact that these LGBTQ radicals
do not speak for all gays or other sexual preference
groups; your inquisitive Peasant has heard gay people
call in to conservative radio talk shows, local and
national, stating that these rowdies neither speak nor
act for them. I have also read letters to the editor of
newspapers and magazines from gay readers to that
effect. But the LGBTQ crowd and their social justice
warrior allies never take "no' for an answer when they
declare their purpose and intentions; they have even
less time and patience for those whom they purport to
speak for when the latter do not accept them as their
leaders and spokespeople than they have for the
"usual suspects"; straight, white, male, heterosexual,
politically conservative of politics and conservative
of religious faith.

And these putrid people claim to be doing all this in
the name of tolerance and diversity. God help us if
they ever decide to embrace intolerance and
homogenization! May Chick-fil-A locate their
corporate spine and stand up to their oppressors
and send them into full retreat.
