A Most Welcome Regime Change!

My spirits received a most wonderful and welcome lift
on Friday, January 20. That was the day when Barack
Obama ceased being President of the United States and
Donald Trump was sworn in as the new president.
Inauguration Day: a day of liberation, jubilation, and
celebration!

For many of us on the right, our new POTUS was not
our first choice, nor our second, third, fourth, ... in the
case of your favorite Peasant he was not my choice at all.
I honestly thought that he was running simply as a lark,
for he had run for the top office in the land twice before,
for a total of all of a few weeks. A nice way to generate
publicity for oneself, if one is a billionaire. But despite
this, along with many mostly unnecessary verbal scrapes
with primary opponents, debate moderators, and a few
reporters, some grievous flip-flopping on some issues,
and a seeming lack of knowledge of some of these issues
along with suspect lacking of study of same, and the fact
that few people in the Democrat or Republican Parties
gave Trump any chance to win in November when he
won the latter's nomination (that in itself a shocking
upset, as well as a harbinger of what was to come!),
Donald John Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Rodham
Clinton in the general election to be elected our 45th
president. A man with an outsize ego but also with a
great love for our country, Trump has sworn to undo
the damage his predecessor did with his unconstitutional
executive orders, his sidling up to our enemies while
shafting our friends, his phony-baloney stimulus packages
which benefited only his Wall Street cronies, his taxing
and spending, not to mention his debt raising to frightening
new levels which will be passed on to our children and
grandchildren, his attempt to put an entire industry out
of business (coal) and to greatly hamstring another (oil),
and sneaking through a then-Democrat and compliant
Congress his not-at-all Affordable Health Care Act,
after lying about its features and benefits (premiums will
be lower than those for most people's then-present coverage
packages; "If you like your health plan, you can keep it;
if you like your doctor, ... "), I could go on until the next
presidential election! Your grateful Peasant will gladly take
Trump's bombast and braggadocio over Obama's abject
and cavalier lying and open contempt for our country and
we her people anytime!

I admit to have been "Never Trump!" during the primaries
and caucuses. But when Trump won the GOP laurels I
saw the folly of continuing to maintain that stand, and came
to support him, if only to keep Hillary Clinton out of the
White House; to be "Never Hillary!" was the greater imperative,
for the sake of our country, our liberty, our prosperity, and our
constitutional rule of law. I was at a Republican victory party
held at the Milwaukee Athletic Club with friends watching the
election results proclaiming Trump to have won our state
(the first time Wisconsin had been carried by a Republican
presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan), then having won
the election. With the joyous noises and jumping about you
would have thought that the Milwaukee Brewers had at last
won the World Series! Amid the pizza, the drinks, the joyful
tears and ringing cheers, we celebrated the return of our country
from the hands of a stone-cold statist and elitist and his minions
to We the People and a candidate who loves and cares for our
country, her people, and our way of life.

And now, at this critical but joyful time, your humble and thankful
Peasant wants to wish our new president every success in his and
his administration's efforts to restore and heal our nation and our-
selves, to make us a nation of laws again, and to restore our friends'
faith and confidence in the United States while placing our enemies
on notice that there is a new leader here, and he won't brook any
nonsense from them like the last one had. God bless and be with you,
President Trump, your administration, and your family.
Your success is our success.

Announcing: A Coming Attraction!

Friends, tomorrow will be a momentous day in our
great and glorious country's history: the day when
the misbegotten reign of the Obama regime draws
to a close and Donald Trump is inaugurated as our
45th president.

Your joyful Peasant will have plenty of commentary
for you, my grand readers, shortly after the big day.
Meantime, I am gathering my thoughts to type onto
this blog for to express and share. I am most grateful
for your understanding and indulgence!

I'll be ready to roll in a few days. Again, you all have
my sincere thanks and praise!

Talk About Sore Losers!

In the two months since Donald Trump's historic
electoral victory to become our 45th president,
the lefties have been even loonier than usual
with their shock, their horror, their sorrow,
their mourning, their whining, and their
protestations. Thinking they had the 2016
election in the bag, expecting a Clinton blowout
of Trump and perhaps regaining the U.S. Senate,
our left-wingers instead received a cold, hard
dose of reality when We the People knocked over
their apple cart by helping President-elect Donald
Trump (Don't you just LOVE the sound of that?)
to victory. And we kept the Senate to boot!

We have seen these out-of-sorts activists cry
(And not just quiet sobbing either!), chant, march,
disrupt, demand "safe spaces"and "hot cocoa"
(No, really! And this is not just on college campuses!)
and some have even taken to sporting large safety
pins on their clothes (?!). But for sheer moonbattery,
absolute nincompoopery, astounding insanity and
peerless stupidity, just look to Hollyweird, er,
Hollywood and their awards ceremonies. They
just a few days ago held their annual Golden Globe
Awards gala, and prominent film actress and
town denizen Meryl Streep gave her take on the
Trump victory and her perceived consequences of
the win. Oh, her speech was a doozy! She tearfully
declared that Trump "broke her heart" (of course
she was for Clinton, as were almost everyone
else in Tinseltown) and she said that "All of us
in this room really belong to the most vilified
segment in American society ... Hollywood,
foreigners and the press." Here she was spreading
the nonsense that Donald Trump and his supporters
hate people from other countries, and have no love
for actors or reporters. She said that if all of the
"foreigners" in Hollywood were to leave, Americans
"would have nothing to watch but football and
MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Really?  Streep went
on to call for --- wait for it --- the press to hold Trump
and his presidency "accountable". Gee, I don't
remember her, or anyone else in La La Land making
a similar demand when Barack Obama was elected
president. Guess that's because no one there had
actually done so. And for icing on this dubious cake,
Streep called for Hollywood to create a committee
to defend the press (!) against Donald Trump and
his administration from any attacks on its work and
their integrity (Let's take a time out here to fall on
the floor in gales of laughter, collect ourselves,
and return to this piece).

Does this bevy of beautiful imbeciles have any clue,
any idea at all as to how out of touch they are with
the rest of our country who, by the way, spends lots
of their money on tickets to see these chic shmucks'
movies at their local theatres? And with Streep
as point woman attacked and bit the collective
hand that feeds them? We made these people stars,
we made Hollywood itself, its film industry and all,
with our desire to be entertained by the products they
produce and distribute. We made 'em, baby, and we
can break 'em!

In electing Donald Trump president, we are not only
striking a blow to advance the conservative cause in
politics but also on the cultural front. We will not,
and shall not, be dictated to by any elites, be they
political, financial, or cultural. These movie morons
did very well under our capitalist system fortified by
our republican form of government, and our
Constitution, yet they see fit to disparage all these
while continuing to enjoy the benefits of same.
It's time to take them to school for a little education.

And the school bell started ringing across the land on
November 8, 2016.

A Healthy Alternative for Teachers

On the matter of teachers having a voice and some
job protection, particularly those who teach in charter
schools, there is an alternative to joining a union to
achieve these things.

Instead of having to shell out $1,000 or more annually
to have union membership, and have their unions' officials
support things that the teachers may not themselves be willing
to, there is a nonunion national organization which they can
join: the Association of American Educators. This organization
supports charter school teachers without the need for
cumbersome contracts and high dues. AAE has members
in all 50 states and is endorsed by several state-based
charter school associations. They provide liability insurance,
legal counsel, and other benefits to their members at a fraction
of the cost that the teachers' unions do. With AAE, teachers
avoid the chafing contracts, red tape, and left-wing politics
that are all part and parcel of union membership. And parents
benefit by having their children's educations be flexible,
innovative, and free of radicalization masquerading as
education. Taxpayers benefit because they won't have to
pay for the aforementioned awfulness prevalent in the
regular public schools. Charter schools are, by the way,
publicly funded schools established by parents, teachers,
and/or community groups under the terms of a charter
with a local or national authority.

This option would be a winner for parents and their
children, teachers, and taxpayers, and therefore an
idea certainly worth exploring.
