Veterans Day Thoughts and Reflections

While the presidential election results are still tied up in
knots, let us not forget to reflect on the sacrifice, the
valor, the heroism of our veterans throughout our country's
history. From the Revolutionary War through the wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq, our Americans in uniform fought to
establish our country, to keep it free and sovereign, and
to stand for righteousness and fair play in the world.
Our United States of America has made an incredible,
indelible, and tremendous difference on this earth and
has been a beacon of the light of hope and freedom
for oppressed people the world over. Let us contemplate
these gifts which came at a frightening cost, paid
by the blood and toil of our brave Americans who have
served in the Army, the Navy, the Marines, the Air Force,
the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines this Veterans
Day tomorrow, every Veterans Day and every day.

As your grateful Peasant likes to say: if you enjoy your
freedom, thank a vet!
